Experience Goral traditions first-hand in the picturesque village of Ždiar! During the 30th edition of the Goral Folk Festival, taking place from 7 to 9 August, Bachledka has prepared a creative programme full of well-known names as well as traditional local Goral artists, right at the entrance to the Treetop Walk, at an altitude of almost 1,200 m above sea level. The biggest highlights of the event will be performances by IMT SMILE and rapper Kali.

The Gorals will come to Bachledka with their traditional markets to introduce visitors to their culture, history and crafts. But it does not end with demonstrations — all visitors will have the opportunity to try Goral crafts themselves and take home the result of their work as a souvenir. In addition to traditional local culture, visitors can look forward to a star-studded programme for both adults and children, a woodcarving symposium, straw sculpture builders and interesting competitions.

The festival will begin on Friday, 7 August, with a musical performance by Lucia Haladejová and Ferko Jaroš. The programme will continue with a performance by the children’s folklore ensemble Ždiaranček, featuring talented children from Ždiar who will bring joy, traditions and lively Goral culture to the stage. Entertainment for both children and adults will then be provided by RAMAGU Theatre with a theatre performance that will delight the whole family. The evening at Bachledka will belong to Štefan Štec! This popular folklore artist, known for his charismatic performance and strong connection to folk traditions, will create an unforgettable musical experience.

On Saturday, 8 August, Bachledka will continue with a rich musical and cultural programme, starting with a musical performance by Lucia Haladejová and Ferko Jaroš. Great fun for both children and adults will be provided by the popular Miro Jaroš, who will bring an energetic show full of well-known songs and joy. The folklore atmosphere will be enriched by FS Zemplín, one of the most important Slovak folklore ensembles, showcasing the beauty of traditional dance, music and singing. A unique musical experience will also be brought by Jozef Opatovský’s Accordion Academy with its lively performance full of virtuosity. In the early evening, Kali will bring his biggest hits and powerful concert energy to the stage. The performance of the well-known Slovak rapper will be followed by one of the most popular bands on the Slovak music scene, IMT SMILE. In addition to the solo performance of Ivan Tásler’s band, visitors can also look forward to a joint performance by IMT SMILE and Kali.

The highlight of the entire event on Sunday, 9 August, will be dedicated to Goral folklore, customs and traditions. Folklore ensembles from the wider region will present their strong voices and steady feet. The following ensembles will perform: FS Goral from Ždiar, DFS Ždiaranček from Ždiar, FS Kicora from Lendak, FS Maguranka from Spišská Stará Ves, the singing group GOROLI, the music group Mladý Heligón from Rabčice, FS Šarišan from Prešov, FS Vagonár from Poprad and FS Giewont from Zakopane.

But that is not all! In addition to the packed daytime programme, after the main programme on 7 and 8 August, Bachledka will come alive with “Goral Entertainment” performed by the Jendrichovský Brothers, where you can dance your feet off and sing your heart out like true Gorals!

Tickets for the event include admission to the event and a return cable car ride on the specific dates for which the ticket was purchased. Each purchased event ticket also includes 1 entry to the Treetop Walk.

Discounted family packages will also be released gradually in advance sale.
